Our director, Dr. Arash Adel, serves on the doctoral committee for Andrea Settimi, a member of the Laboratory for Timber Construction (Professor Yves Weinand) at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), for the dissertation titled “Augmented Carpentry: Integration of Manual Fabrication into the Digital Value Chain.”

Our associated postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Salma Mozaffari, and Ph.D. student, Daniel Ruan, will present a poster at the Princeton Catalysis Initiative (PCI) Symposium showcasing our recent work on robot learning for construction automation.

We are thrilled to announce that our research demonstration project has been selected as a large-scale Peace Pavilion at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock Music Festival! The installation will be part of this year’s Bethel Woods Art & Architecture Festival (BuildFest), hosted by the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts from September 10 to 14.

Our associated postdoctoral researcher, Dr. Salma Mozaffari, is visiting Professor Jun Sato's Laboratory at the University of Tokyo and the Shinohara Group in Tokyo, exploring centuries-old Japanese carpentry techniques to enrich our ongoing research on robot learning for construction automation.

Our director, Dr. Arash Adel, will deliver a guest lecture titled “Towards New Modes of Architectural Production: Integrating Robotics and Artificial Intelligence into Design and Construction” on April 23, 2025, at 6:00 PM JST, as part of the Architectural Informatics Lecture Series at the Department of Architecture, The University of Tokyo.

Robotically Fabricated Structure (RFS) 2.0 is displayed at the On Air exhibition in Ann Arbor, Michigan. RFS 2.0 is an extension of the ongoing research conducted by our laboratory on robotic timber construction and human–robot collaborative construction processes.
